Bhimtal, which is tucked away in the midst of nature, is thought to have been named after Bhima, and many believe that it formerly served as a stop along the historic Silk Road. Although this hidden gem, which is only a short distance from the well-known hill station Nainital, is still unknown to many tourists. There is a lovely lake with a tiny island in the centre, as well as temples and other significant religious sites.
